HP 'reinvents' wide-format with five fresh models

HP has today announced the launch of five new DesignJet printers in a move to ‘reinvent’ large-format printing, with new additions to the technical range including the flagship HP DesignJet T830 Multifunction Printer and the HP DesignJet T730 Printer.

HP has boosted its DesignJet technical printer portfolio with five new models

The T830 MFP and the T730 are ideal for challenging environments such as construction sites, and both have the capacity to produce high quality A1/D-size prints in just 25 seconds, boast automatic sheet feeders, and Econofast print mode, which saves both ink and time.

Xavier Garcia, vice president and general manager of large-format printing at HP, comments: “Even as AEC and design professionals become increasingly mobile, they prefer making edits and reviewing plans on the printed page.

"HP’s innovative new large-format printers and MFPs simplify collaboration with next-level features and mobile printing capabilities to meet this blended reality and print whatever and wherever AEC professionals need.”

HP describes the T830 as ‘the industry’s most affordable, compact, and transportable integrated large-format MFP’. It is half the size of traditional large-format multifunctional machines, with an intuitive from panel with a touchscreen that is as easy to operate as a smartphone or tablet.

Surveyor Neil Geraghty of Duke Construction says of the T830: “Architectural drawings are at the heart of what we do as contractors, and getting them to the site quickly is key. However, outsourcing our large-format printing was causing delays and costing money.

“With the HP DesignJet T830 MFP, we are able to quickly and affordably produce high-quality, large-format prints in-house, while HP mobile printing makes choosing, editing and printing files easy to do from any location.”

The other new models transforming the way architect, engineering, and construction (AEC) professionals work are the T930, a productivity-enhancing solution for small and medium-sized AEC teams, the T1530, a dual-roll 36-inch printer designed for high-volume environments, and the T2530, which incorporates an integrated control panel for all print, scan, and copy functions.

The new models are available worldwide from November 30th.
