Epson targets textile with new printer launch

Industry giant Epson has set its sights on opportunities in the textile print market after releasing its new SureColor SC-F7100 64” dye sublimation transfer printer

Epson says the new SureColor SC-F7100 device has been developd in response to customer feedback

Developed in accordance with customer feedback, Epson says the new device can produce a range of textile print items such as soft signage, sportswear, apparel, accessories or gadgets in an ‘efficient and easy’ manner.

Martin Johns, product manager of Epson UK, says the new printer has been created to address the need for a textile printer that is engineered for short to medium print runs.

He enthuses: “Not only does the SureColor SC-F7100 deliver on performance, cost, reliability and flexibility, it also opens up new revenue streams for customers. 

“We have listened to our customers and know this is a clear need and we have reacted accordingly.

“These improvements enable them to respond to and maximise the business potential presented by the demand for short to medium textile production runs.”

The new device can print at speeds of up to 58sq m/h or 30sq m/h in two-pass production mode and offers image quality of 720 x 1440dpi.

The SureColor SC-F7100 also features Epson’s Micro Piezo TFP printheads and can print on a range of dye sublimation transfer papers up to 64” wide.

In addition, the new machine comes complete with ErgoSoft RIP and features a 1.5l refillable bulk ink system that Epson claims produces, ‘vibrant colours, sharp contours and smooth gradients’ with ‘excellent’ light/wash fastness and abrasion/perspiration resistance.
