Following its success at Sign and Digital UK 2012, Silchester-based Zapkut says that it has identified a growing demand for affordable, versatile and yet robust kit.

The company’s managing director, Keith Bunker, explained how he noticed the trend due to an uplift in sales for models such as its Zapkut ZK vertical panel saw, which is light-weight and portable: “The beauty of our portable unit is that it all folds up in seconds, and in fact I can even put it into the back of my wife's Ford Focus when driving around the country. As it is compact, it can fit into the corner of smaller sign shop that wants something that is robust and efficient, but needs to retain the flexibility to use space for other jobs.”

Invented and manufactured in the UK, Bunker says the ZK is the only portable panel saw of its kind and highlights that its ZM workshop range, available in three sizes, is also seeing good market traction. Indeed, he says that at Sign and Digital UK, a customer recounted that his ZK had cut more than 5,000 sheets in two years without trouble.
