The global wallcoverings market is being positively impacted by developments in digital print

Held in Budapest, the congress brings together chief executive officers, owners and managing directors of wallcoverings manufacturing businesses, and their suppliers, to exchange ideas and present an opportunity to network over the four days.

Paul Ewing is an associate print consultant at Smithers Pira and will share key insights and trends into the future of the global wallcoverings industry and how digital print is playing a role in the sector.

Drawing on 15 years of inkjet industry experience, Ewing’s presentation will cover the outlook for digital printing in wallpaper and décor applications, and draws on data from Smithers Pira’s recent study, The Future of Digital Printing for Wallpaper and Décor to 2023.

Ewing will discuss underlying drivers in the market including demand and technology factors, and what end market trends are driving growth

The study highlights wallpaper as a ‘hot market’ thanks to development of new materials, dimensional fabrics and the increase in ‘ultra-stylish prints.’

It also says that consumers see wallpaper as a low maintenance alternative to paint, and developments in adhesive formulas and stick-and-peel fabrics are increasing the reputation of wallpaper as a solution.

Ewing will discuss underlying drivers in the market including demand and technology factors, and what end market trends are driving growth.

The IGI was founded in 1950 to represent the wallcovering industry and solve their business problems by providing a forum platform to address common goals. Key industry leaders from across Europe, Russia, China, Korea and the US will be attending.

The IGI’s Annual Congress takes place at the Corinthia Hotel Budapest, Hungary from May 31st to June 3rd.
