The British Sign Awards will take place in Leicester’s Athena Events Centre on Thursday November 9th 2017

These awards are designed to recognise sign firms of all shapes and sizes across the UK, and the British Sign and Graphics Association (BSGA), which runs the event, will award accolades to 15 winners on the night.

One of those 15 awards will be presented to the winner of the Young Sign-maker of the Year category, which will be sponsored by Somerset-based Roland DG. This award is open to those under the age of 25 and the winner is determined by votes from members of the industry.

Roland DG is well suited to back this award, as the company is a keen advocate of education in the sign industry—shown by its Roland DG Academy, which offers courses to printers and sign-makers.

The sign industry isn’t just about learning a trade for apprentices and young employees—it’s about inspiration, creativity, and above all learning skills that will last them a lifetime

Rob Goleniowski, head of sales for UK and Ireland at Roland DG, comments: “For the third consecutive year, Roland DG is providing its commitment to the future of the graphics industry by sponsoring the Young Sign-maker of the Year award. The sign industry isn’t just about learning a trade for apprentices and young employees—it’s about inspiration, creativity, and above all learning skills that will last them a lifetime.

“I’m sure, as with every year, it will be a tough competition with some fantastic events. Apprentices are the future of the sign business, and their innovation and passion that will continue to push the industry forward.”
