Vibrant design adds glamour for Epson

Applications were the focus on the Epson stand at FESPA 2017 and H&M 2017 Design Award winner Richard Quinn was there to see his vibrant haute couture collection displayed on stand and being printed on the SureColor SC-F9200.

Epson as reported heavy footfall on its stand at FESPA this year

This dye sublimation printer uses two high capacity ink systems for longer, uninterrupted 720 x 1440dpi quality at just over 100sq m/minute.

This was just part of the textiles display produced on the SC-F series on the stand. Birmingham City University students were responsible for most of the design of the central lounge area with its eye-catching wallpaper, sofas, lamps and cushions. They, too, visited on Thursday to see their work in situ but also to grasp the scale and scope of the textiles printing industry shown at FESPA.

Using the Direct to Garment SureColor SC-F2000, Epson’s long-standing partner YR Store showed how easily a pop up shop can provide a bespoke, personalised textiles service equivalent to a fast food scenario. Visitors could design their T shirt, see it printed and take it away with them.

Products were also shown from the industrial direct to garment press, the Monna Lisa, which can run five different inks enabling it to print on a very wide range of textiles. These presses are produced at the Robustelli plant in Como, Italy, which is also part of the Epson Group.

This show has had a real buzz and it has been fun to be part of a stand which has worked with young and very talented designers who can see how the latest technology can bring their concepts to reality

The two eco solvent signage presses on stand included the smaller four-colour SureColor SC-60600 and the top of the range ten-colour 64 inch wide SureColor SC-S80600 which runs UltraChrom GS3 inks, including red, white and metallic for corporate colours. These certainly drew interest from visitors and so too did the adjacent fine art, photography and proofing press, the SC-P6000 which was producing back lit products that were displayed on the back wall of the Epson stand.

Richard Barrow, senior product manager at Epson Europe, says: “This show has had a real buzz and it has been fun to be part of a stand which has worked with young and very talented designers who can see how the latest technology can bring their concepts to reality. But equally this has been a commercial show where we have welcomed a great many printers to the stand from all parts of the world but particularly from Europe and the Middle East.”
