Jo Golding spoke to Neil Stevenson, managing director of Grafityp, about what the company brought to Sign and Digital UK 2017, which concluded yesterday, and more about its diverse product range.

One of the most exciting launches on Grafityp’s stand was the new Grafiwrap AE38C, a 50-micron cast comfort air escape print vinyl. The ‘C’ for ‘comfort’ is added because of the film being much more forgiving, allowing users to apply and reapply the film.

Stevenson enthuses: “We took four orders for the new film within the first hour and a half on the first day of the show. We have even had orders in our online shop already, which is quite rare for a new product. It’s been a good year for materials.”

In terms of technology, Grafityp showcased the SG-540, SG-300, VG-540, and Soljet EJ-640, demonstrating the productivity of the machines and the high quality output produced.

Stevenson says: “We’ve brought a lot more products across the board this year. Normally we bring media and printers but this time we’ve also brought more laser machines and cutting plotters. We have our own textiles area and materials area, it’s a lot more versatile."

Grafityp also had its new range of P series print media, which are cost-effective and also had a positive response from visitors.

What is evident from speaking to Stevenson is that Grafityp have a large product range, with some products people will not even be aware of yet. For example, did you know Grafityp has a range of papers from Guyenne? Check them out, it is always useful to compare new products and see if you can save yourself some money.

“We have so many products, people really need to read our catalogue to get an idea of just how much we have. Visitors to the show often come to us with one idea of what they need, and leave with something different,” says Stevenson.

He adds: “Without exhibitions such as Sign and Digital UK you would never get the opportunity to speak to new and existing customers in this way.”
