Leeds signage company ceases trading
Leeds-based Signlex has ceased trading with a total of sixteen jobs lost at the firm.

Signlex has entered administration
Joanne Louise Hammond and Kris Anthony Wigfield of Begbies Traynor were appointed as administrators on February 20th. The Yorkshire Post reported that the signage company was suffering cash flow problems caused by delays to the start of contracts and two key contracts failing to materialise.
Signlex provided both digital and traditional signage for a range of sectors and clients, including AGA, Musto and Little Chef. The firm’s portfolio included flags and banners, fleet graphics, lettering, vinyl graphics, wall coverings and traditional sign-writing.
According to the company’s website, the team at Signlex had 175 years of combined experience in the signage industry.

Prior to administrators being called in, Eddisons was instructed by the director of the Signlex to value and market the business in order to secure jobs and preserve the value of the company.
Despite ‘considerable interest’, a buyer could not be secured for the sign-making business. A total of 16 members of staff, including director Simon Belton, were made redundant.
Eddisons will be selling Signlex’s assets at an auction at the company’s premises at Maybrook Industrial Park in Leeds, with viewings taking place on Wednesday, March 13th between 10am and 3pm. Bidding ends at 10am on Friday, March 15th.
Assets up for auction from the company include a Mimaki JFX 500-2131 flatbed printer, a Mimaki JV400-160SUV wide-format printer, a HP Latex 360 wide-format printer, a Graphtec FC8600-160 cutting plotter, a Mimaki CG-130SRII 54” cutter and a Kongsberg V Esko Multicut V245 cutter.
