The company has an impressive history of growth and product innovation and caters for an incredibly wide array of products and services from tape conversion to packaging systems.

Newtown Tapes was established in 1977 by Gordon Verrall and was started from the front room of the Verrall family home and a rented garage.  It is now owned and operated by Luke Verrall, who is its chief executive officer, with multiple sites across the country.

The firm’s head of machine sales and marketing, Jacob Underwood, explains that for Signlink Live its focus will be on the X-Treme range of tape application machines. The technology automatically applies all types of double-sided tapes to a wide range of materials used in the print, point-of-sale (POS), and signage market.

“If you are currently applying tapes by hand in your finishing process, you will understand that this is a slow, labour intensive, and inaccurate way to apply tape. Our tape application machines provide a cost-effective solution to increase tape application productivity, reduce labour costs and increase accuracy of the tapes being applied,” explains Underwood.

He continues: “Newtown’s customers have reported being up to 1,200 percent more efficient at applying double sided tapes with its Enimac X-Treme double sided tape applicator machines versus the old traditional method of applying tapes by hand. This has allowed many of its customers to cut down on staff, eliminate the need for temporary workers and to be able to complete tape finishing jobs in-house. In addition to these benefits Newtown’s machines ensure tape is applied accurately and consistently every time, something that is not guaranteed when tape is applied by hand.”

Underwood concludes: “I am really proud to be a member of this fantastic team and the developments coming on stream will continue the proud history of innovation that Newtown Tapes is known for. I really am looking forward to October and meeting with industry professionals from across the sign, commercial print, and wide-format print sectors.”

The company’s stand KO6 will also be chock-full of product samples, application ideas, and special initiatives to celebrate its 40th year in business, and will be well worth a visit.

Having exhibited at both The Print Show 2015 and 2016, we are excited to return once again through its sister-event SignLink Live

Underwood adds: “With more than 300 different types of double-sided adhesive tapes kept in stock, Newtown is sure to have to correct product in stock to complete the task at hand. Our tapes are used for a wide array of applications in these industries such as the construction of free standing display units, the makeup of folders, assembly of printed packaging and the fixing of point-of-sale displays / signage. All of our tapes can be supplied in any width or length using our on-site state of the art tape slitting and rewinding conversion facilities.”

Commenting on the up-coming show, he concludes: “Having exhibited at both The Print Show 2015 and 2016, we are excited to return once again through its sister-event SignLink Live. As an original exhibitor, the event has proven to give us fantastic sales opportunities and we are positive this will be the case again in 2017, more so with our new product launch we have planned.”
