SP Print Solutions, a Gloucestershire-based start-up has installed a flatbed UV LED printer and digital cutting table, both purchased from CMYUK

Start-up business, SP Print Solutions, has invested in a range of new equipment from CMYUK in order to help grow the company and improve its wide-format and finishing output.
SP Print Solutions was set up by Steve Partington, who has 25 years of experience in the printing industry. The company offers a range of solutions including wide-format print, display graphics, signage, vinyl and glass manifestation, bespoke packaging, and more.
Partington invested in a Mimaki JFX200-2513 EX flatbed UV LED printer, as well as a JWEI JCUT-2131 digital cutting table.
The Mimaki was chosen for its quality, versatility, and reliability, with the machine seen by CMYUK as one of the most popular entry-level flatbeds on the market.
Speaking about the investment, Partington says: “I needed something that I knew would work with pretty much any substrate. We offer a wide range of materials, including, but not limited to, paper, board, polypropylene, PVC, composite panels, acrylic, and SAV. I know the Mimaki is something I can grow into, and it’s easily interchangeable.”
When it comes to the cutting table, Partington decided against a JCUT-2131 with a smaller table in order to not regret getting a larger table in five years’ time. The cutter includes an automatic feeding conveyor, 1800kW liquid cooled router for powerful milling, Auto Tool Changer (ATC), and a range of cutting and creasing tools.
When it comes to being trained on the devices, Partington adds: "Although I have knowledge from using both Kongsberg and Zünd machines previously, the JWEI and its software is new to me, and so we went through every tool and every material in detail.”
Speaking of the company’s future with the kit, Partington concludes: “It’s early days but I’ve found that the majority of people who have placed an order with me have come back for more. With these two principal pieces of equipment, I’d like to think that I can handle whatever comes through my door.”
