Wide-format manufacturer and distributor, Soyang Europe, has officially announced the appointment of two new directors.

Oliver Mashiter will become Soyang’s new sales director, and Simon Mashiter will be the new operations director, both working in the company’s media department.

The appointments of the brothers, both sons of Soyang Europe managing director Mark Mashiter, represent internal moves, with both stepping into more senior roles after each spending more than 12 years with the company. Both have been working in the new roles since early October.

Oliver has served as a sales manager at Soyang Europe since joining the company in September 2011. In his new role as sales director, he will be responsible for managing Soyang’s media sales team, taking over from the soon-to-retire Andrew Simmons.

Key objectives will include developing and implementing new systems to assist the sales team, researching new markets and products, and maintaining customer relationships, as well as assisting Soyang sales managers with account visits.

Simon, who joined the company in May of 2012, began as a sales executive before becoming general manager for works. In his new role as operations director for media, he will work alongside operations director of hardware, Jon Spencer, and be responsible for operations across the media team.

Responsible for the operations of Soyang Europe’s entire Altham site, Simon will oversee staffing, maintenance, and deliveries, alongside the management of company assets and identifying key areas for improved efficiency.

Speaking of the appointments, Mark Mashiter says: “I am delighted to see Oliver and Simon step into more senior roles at the business. Both very much deserve to progress higher up the hierarchy, having built up tremendous knowledge of the company over the past 12 years or so.

“I very much look forward to seeing how they help the business continue to grow and expand as we move into 2025 and beyond.”
