Amari Plastics Birmingham has sponsored a coast-to-coast cycle challenge undertaken by the team at Signs Now UK
Signs Now UK, a producer of fabricated and bespoke signage, has detailed its recent 153-mile cycle challenge which was undertaken to raise money for Birmingham Children's Hospital (BCH).
The coast-to-coast (C2C) cycle challenge saw Carlo Matarazzo, sales director at the company, along with a collection of his colleagues, undertake a cycle route from Cumbria to Tyneside between the Irish Sea and the North Sea in just one day.
The route is known to be a “rigorous” endeavour but was a challenge the team happily accepted in order to help children requiring specialised medical care.
The BCH is a premier paediatric centre that provides advanced treatments, complex surgeries, and advanced research to over 90,000 children and young people across the UK.
So far the six cyclists, known as Team Atlantis, have raised 94% of their target of £2,000.
At the end of June, Team Atlantis, which then consisted of 14 individuals, completed the National Three Peaks challenge which raised over £3,500 for the hospital.
So far through both fundraisers, the team has raised £5,485 for BCH. Donations for the latest challenge can be made here.
Speaking after the C2C challenge on LinkedIn, Matarazzo said: “I’m thrilled to share that the C2C challenge on Saturday [July 20th] was a resounding success. We completed the 155-mile journey as planned, with no injuries or mechanical issues, and the weather was kind to us.
“This achievement would not have been possible without the incredible support and generosity of everyone who donated and encouraged us, as well as our sponsor, Amari Plastic Birmingham. Your contributions will significantly aid the Birmingham Children’s Hospital.”

This year, Team Atlantis is celebrating its tenth anniversary of fundraising after undertaking several physical challenges over the years to raise money for the hospital. So far the company has raised £24,188.69 for Birmingham Children's Hospital.
In 2022 Signs Now UK celebrated 25 years of trading with three of its staff having worked for the company for over 20 years.
