Signs Display has installed a new Agfa Tauro H2500 to work alongside its two existing Agfa Titan machines, reportedly doubling capacity while opening up new application possibilities

UK signage provider, Signs Display, has installed a new Agfa Tauro H2500 in order to strengthen its wide-format production capability.
The latest purchase of an Agfa press builds on a technology partnership that began 15 years ago, with the new hybrid system added alongside the company’s two existing Titan printers from Agfa.
The new installation aims to open new opportunities for Signs Display in roll media, white ink, and specialist applications.
Shaun Hitchman, operations manager at Signs Display, says: “It wasn’t a rushed decision by any means, it has been a calculated investment.
“We had looked at the Tauro years ago and when we came back to market, and it was still the machine we favoured despite several more options being open to us. We felt the speed and versatility the machine provided would meet our needs and help the business to grow, opening up new opportunities for us whilst maintaining and protecting the needs of existing contracts.”
It was 2010 when Signs Display installed its first Agfa Titan press, and two years later it followed up the purchase with its second. Both systems remain in active production today, which Agfa highlights as a testament to the durability of the equipment and the value it places on dependable technical support.
Signs Display highlights the support it has received from Agfa’s sales and engineering teams over more than a decade as another key factor in the purchase.
Hitchman comments: “The service and support we’ve had from Agfa over the last ten to 15 years played a big part in the decision. Things do go wrong but it’s how they’re dealt with, and Agfa has always responded quickly.”
Rather than replacing existing equipment, Signs Display installed the H2500 as an additional production system, retaining the output of its two existing Titans while using the Tauro’s industrial speed of up to 390sq m/h to take on more work within the same working day.
Hitchman adds: “We’ve effectively doubled our capacity overnight while keeping production within the same eight-hour shift.”
