The 46.25m-wide Philips dvLED wall has been housed inside the Formula 1 team’s MK-7 events space

PPDS, the exclusive global provider of Philips Professional Displays, has announced the installation of a “record-breaking” Philips dvLED wall inside Oracle Red Bull Racing’s (Red Bull) headquarters.
Measuring 46.25m x 2.75m, the horseshoe-shaped Philips Public dvLED wall is quoted by PPDS as being “the largest dvLED wall installed in an indoor events space in Europe.”
The wall is designed as the centrepiece of the main auditorium at the MK-7 events space, located within the Red Bull Racing Technology Campus. The digital out-of-home (DOOH) display is the backdrop to an expansive display of Red Bull’s Formula 1 cars lined up at the space.
Red Bull is one of the leading teams within the motorsport of Formula 1, and a winner of a host of World Driver’s and Constructer’s Championships. The MK-7 venue, based in its Milton Keynes headquarters, operates as an events space and museum, with a range of racing memorabilia, artefacts, and championship-winning cars.
The collection of F1 cars on display spans from the racing team’s F1 debut in 2005, and includes seven championship-winning vehicles, including those driven by reigning and three-time World Drivers’ Champion, Max Verstappen.
PPDS has been an official supplier to Red Bull Racing since 2022, and its exclusive digital display supplier since 2023. For the project, it teamed up with Netherlands-based AV integration specialist, Ruitech Solutions.
There are no visible windows or natural light inside the main event space. The Philips Public LED 7000 Series was therefore chosen for the display, selected for its higher refresh rates, colour and brightness quality, as well as its 2.4mm pixel pitch.
The 7000 Series’ comparatively low power consumption was also a factor in the decision, which adhered to PPDS’ and Red Bull’s sustainability commitments.

The project was completed in 23 days, beginning with the erection of a dedicated freestanding mounting system supplied and supported by AV mounting company, Vogel’s. This was followed by the installation of the 517 LED panels that make up the wall.
The completed DOOH display contains 2,035 LED tiles, used 4km of wiring, and supposedly required an estimated 1,000 hours of engineering, prototyping, and testing to complete.
The LED wall was officially unveiled at an event on September 10th, with Christian Horner, Team Principal and chief executive officer at Red Bull Racing, among the guest speakers.
Speaking of the installation, Nick Kenton, director of hospitality and events at Oracle Red Bull Racing, comments: “The MK-7 event space is home to a number of winning race cars and the space needed to adapt to allow flexibility for growth and change, as well as a fresh look and feel, with cutting-edge technologies to match.
“Working with PPDS, our visions for this stunning venue have been fulfilled, with the new Philips LED wall able to deliver the cutting-edge technology and performance befitting of our brand with the capabilities we craved.”
Tim de Ruiter, business development director at PPDS, comments: “Believed to be the largest of its kind, with this spectacular Philips LED wall, MK-7 has reaffirmed itself as one of the most unique and technologically advanced event spaces in Europe, if not the world.
“We are incredibly pleased with the impact the Philips Public LED 7000 Series has had on this amazing location. The immense direct view LED display extending around the entire horseshoe of cars delivers an instant wow factor.”
