PPDS has donated two displays to an international eye care charity
The exclusive distributor of Philips professional displays, PPDS, recently donated two Philips 4K UHD displays to international charity Eye Care Foundation.
As a result of the partnership, the displays have been installed in the treatment room and reception area of the Vinh Long Eye Hospital in Vietnam.
This donation, which comprised a 65” and 43” Q-Line display, is part of PPDS’ commitment to support charities that bring positive change globally.
The company also recently launched TPV Cares, a new foundation that harnesses the talents of PPDS, TP Vision, MMD Monitors and Displays, and AOC teams and technologies to support communities in over 200 countries.
Founded in Amsterdam the Eye Care Foundation operates in Asia including Nepal, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos, and Tanzania in Africa. The charity works to provide good and affordable eyecare in developing countries.
The displays donated by PPDS will enable the charity to provide training and demonstrate the affected eyes and how they may be treated in high resolution.
Björn Stenvers, director of Eye Care Foundation, says: “The biggest challenge is to find enough resources to stabilise the growth of vision loss worldwide.
“The displays from PPDS have allowed us to train and empower the local team at Vinh Long Hospital, with the aim of educating patients on the importance of seeking eye care earlier, helping to prevent sight loss.”
