DTO press manufacturer, Inkcups, has announced the appointment of Bill Keating as its new chief executive officer, succeeding interim CEO, Rick Hajec

Direct-to-object (DTO) press manufacturer, Inkcups, has officially announced the appointment of Bill Keating as its new chief executive officer.
Keating, who took on the role effective from May 19th, succeeds Rick Hajec, who served as interim chief executive officer since April 2024. Following the appointment, Hajec remains a member of the Inkcups advisory board.
Keating arrives to the role with more than 25 years of experience in manufacturing, including significant commercial sales and strategic executive leadership experience. Previous leadership roles include positions at Roper Industries, OMEGA Engineering, Oxford Instruments America, and Gooch & Housego.
In his new role, Keating will chiefly focus on future growth, creating added value for customers, and expanding the company’s global reach.
Keating says: “Inkcups has a distinguished track record of pioneering technology, expanding into new markets, and delivering solutions that meet the evolving needs of its customers.
“I am honoured to lead this exceptional organisation at a time of significant opportunity, and I look forward to building on its strong foundation, driving innovation, and accelerating global growth.”
Previous chief executive officer, Hajec, comments: “It has been an honour to guide Inkcups during this transition.
“With his vast experience in developing complex solutions that create value for customers, Bill is ideally suited to steer Inkcups as it continues on its path of global growth.”
Inkcups used this year’s FESPA Global Print Expo to showcase a new ‘High Throw’ technology for its X5-T flatbed UV digital printer.
The enhancement is designed to significantly increase the ink throw distance between the printhead and substrate, enabling higher quality and accuracy on prints on contoured, rounded, slightly curved, and irregularly shaped objects.
In addition to the X5-T High Throw, visitors to the Inkcups booth could also experience a new feature of the company’s Helix ONE benchtop cylindrical printer. The new Auto File barcode scanning feature was demonstrated in a collaboration with software company, Antigro Designer.
