The wide-format printer has employed five new members to its team in Leeds
Imageco, a wide-format print company based in Leeds, has recently expanded its team after increasing its client base into Europe.
The company recently gained new funding from Leeds City Council which has allowed the business to grow through new job roles, machinery, and business strategies.
Imageco has also seen recent success at FESPA 2023, the UK Graphic Awards, and the International Architecture & Design Awards.
The business won Wide-format Printer of the Year: under 30 employees for the third year in a row at the UK Graphic awards, a decision which was made by the judges due to “Imageco's commitment to sustainability being clearly embedded within its operational values and employee culture.”
Imageco’s new recruits are Isabel Shanahan, Robert Lee, Calum Maltham, Josh Hargreaves, and Sam Fielding.
The new starters come from a variety of different backgrounds including hospitality and printing. With experience in 3D design Lee has joined the Imageco senior account management team to support its array of new clients.
Shanahan has joined as the company’s latest Junior Mac Operator after recently completing her A-levels. Shanahan will be working on Imageco’s pre-press work and is also hoping to start a part-time degree in graphic design alongside her role.
Speaking about her role, Shanahan says: “Prior to starting my role here, I would have never imagined the opportunities and versatility of print. Since beginning my position in the studio, I’ve been given the chance to attend multiple FESPA events where I’ve had the pleasure of meeting so many cool and like-minded people in the industry.
Alongside Shanahan, Maltham has joined the team as a trainee account manager while Hargraves and Fielding will be working as trainee technicians.
Fielding notes: “Since starting at Imageco there hasn’t been a moment I’ve felt uncomfortable or had a hard time settling in. The team have been great both teaching me new skills and making me feel like one of their own.”
Nathan Swinson-Bullough, the company’s managing director, comments: “We’re pleased to announce that we have recently expanded the Imageco team with four new junior hires, and one new addition to our account management team.
“I think it’s incredibly important during this economic period to invest in young talent, especially within the manufacturing sector. Here at Imageco, we don’t think that qualifications are essential to being successful in the wide-format print industry and that sometimes the most talented people come from the least likely of places.”
