FASTSIGNS St Albans and its team have helped a local charity to grow its support network

FASTSIGNS St Albans, a Hertfordshire-based signage and visual communications specialist which is part of the FASTSIGNS group has detailed its recent work with counselling charity, Youth Talk.

Youth Talk provides free confidential advice to young people aged between 13 and 25.

Due to the limited space of its former headquarters and an increasing number of people needing a safe space to go to following the pandemic, Youth Talk has moved into a new facility with eight therapy rooms (doubling the amount it previously had).

According to research by NHS Digital in 2023, 1 in 5 (19.9%) of 7- to 16-year-olds lived in a household that experienced a reduction in household income in the past year. This was more than 1 in 4 (28.6%) of children with a probable mental health disorder.

FASTSIGNS manufactured and installed the visual aesthetic of the new London Road location, just in time for Youth Talk’s 25th anniversary.

The project included full exterior signage, and window and door frosting, as well as pull-up banners and feather flags for local events. To complement the partnership Lee Simpson, FASTSIGNS St Alban’s managing director, took part in a half-marathon on behalf of Youth Talk, raising £700 in the process.

The money raised will help the charity to fund 14 one-to-one counselling sessions, with the whole project also helping towards Youth Talk’s five-year growth strategy.

Rachel Simkin, fundraising manager at Youth Talk, comments: “Lee and his team at FASTSIGNS St Albans have gone above and beyond to ensure our signage needs have been met.

“It’s great to have a local business actively offering their skills, technical expertise, and services to help other organisations like us in St Albans flourish. Collaborations like these empower our team to continue carrying out their all-important work in a safe and comfortable space.”
