Wide-format media and kit supplier, Soyang Europe, has appointed Colin Werrett as its new senior business development manager, a role in which he will be responsible for developing the company’s hardware business across the UK.

Werrett arrives to the role with over three decades of experience for Fujifilm across the print and graphics industries. He now reports directly to Andy Webb, the recently appointed commercial director at Soyang Europe, who also recently moved on from Fujifilm where he worked as head of inkjet and packaging (UK).

After joining Soyang at the beginning of October, Werrett has already begun working with the wider team to strengthen customer relationships and support the company’s expanding offering.

Werrett will work closely with customers throughout the sales process, with the aim of helping print service providers (PSPs) identify the technologies and production solutions best suited to their individual requirements.

Speaking about his appointment, Werrett says: “I’m excited to begin the next chapter of my career and pleased to be staying within the wide-format industry.

“Soyang has built a strong reputation across both media and hardware and I’m looking forward to reconnecting with former customers, meeting new customers, and helping businesses identify the right solutions for their needs.”

Andy Webb, commercial director at Soyang Europe, adds: “We’re very pleased to welcome Colin to the Soyang team. His depth of industry experience, together with his extensive knowledge of wide-format print and strong customer relationships, will be a valuable addition to our hardware business.

“Colin understands the challenges facing PSPs and brings a wealth of practical knowledge to the role. His experience will further strengthen our ability to support customers as they evaluate new production technologies and identify opportunities to grow their businesses.”

Webb’s departure follows a sequence of internal restructuring and corporate reorganisation at Fujifilm. This includes the decision to discontinue the Acuity Prime and Ultra range of wide-format printers, with the company shifting more focus to print-on-demand (POD) and office solutions.

This shift in focus was highlighted at Fujifilm’s Make More partner event earlier this year, which included the launch of the Revoria PC2120 POD press and the Apeos C3567 series and C3061 series of multifunction office printers.
