Mutoh launches new UV LED roll-to-roll printer to market

Print press manufacturer, Mutoh, has announced the release of the XpertJet1682UR, its latest 64” UV LED roll-to-roll printer.

The XpertJet 1682UR is suited for a range of applications including wall décor, retail displays, floor and window graphics, fine art prints, and exhibition signage.

The roll-to-roll press delivers reported print speeds of up to 27sq m/h and up to 1440 x 1440dpi. Its dual eight-channel monoblock 1440 nozzle heads and dual four-inch UV LED lamps allow for single-pass five-layer printing without media pull back.

The new XpertJet also offers a number of advanced multi-layer printing options, including five-layer prints that display different visuals front-to-back and four-layer prints designed for striking frontlit and backlit combinations.

Alongside these capabilities, the press also offers enhanced spot varnish effects for transparent and coloured substrates, as well as non-white materials.

The new press announcement follows the recently released XpertJet 1682SR DS Pro, a 64” dye-sublimation press designed for high-repetition, colour-critical production.

The XpertJet1682UR utilises Mutoh’s recently released US81UV LED inks, which have been specifically developed to enhance the qualities of the press.

The ink offers high adhesion and scratch resistance, suited for flexible substrates including tarpaulin, soft signage, transparent films, and multi-layer graphics. US81 inks are SVHC-free and TPO-free, aligning with the latest EU REACH chemical safety regulations.
