Graphics and branding specialist Moss has bolstered its live events offering after acquiring UK manufacturer Sign Up Systems.

The deal adds patented extrusion technology and specialist engineering expertise to support Moss’s work in exhibitions, activations and large-format branded environments. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The companies have worked together for some time across a range of projects, with the acquisition seen as a natural fit to allow the combined, larger business to pursue new work and opportunities in various sectors.

Sign Up Systems, which counts Jaguar Land Rover, Porsche and Goodwood Festival of Speed among its previous clients, will rebrand as Moss as part of the deal. However, it will continue to operate from its Nottinghamshire facility, which includes in-house print and fabrication capabilities.

Jon Bromhead, the founder of Sign Up Systems, will now retire from the business, with the senior team now reporting to Moss UK managing director Michael Green.

“Having worked alongside Jon and the team for the past 15 years, we have been constantly impressed with the company’s inventive, solution-focused ethos,” Green says, continuing: “Their deep knowledge of live events and structural applications has seen the development of extrusions that meet the rigorous demands of the sector, for example fast installation and durability in demanding environments.”

Harry Smith, project manager at Sign Up Systems, adds: “We’re delighted to be joining the Moss team. Their global reach and ambition make them the perfect home for our future, and we’re excited about what can be achieved together.”

Moss operates worldwide with operations in the US, Germany, Poland, Spain and the UK as a division of US-based Vomela.
