Paper and materials specialist, Premier Paper, has announced the launch of eTEC Air-R Bubble Board Black Core, a PVC-free addition to its sign and display range.
Building on the previously released eTEC Air Bubble Board White Core, the newest addition retains a smooth white surface on both sides, but with the addition of a black inner core to enhance opacity and eliminate ‘show-through’.
Designed for UV, latex, and screen printing, eTEC Air-R Bubble Board Black Core is corona-treated, designed to ensure excellent ink adhesion and print quality.
Corona treatment uses a high voltage electrical discharge to energise a material surface, increasing its adhesion properties for inks, adhesives, and coatings.
The board is developed for a wide range of fabrication methods, compatible with drag knife flatbed cutting, hot and cold die-cutting, guillotining, hot welding, folding, and laser cutting. The board is also UV treated to ensure durability for long-term outdoor use.
The range, available in the UK and Ireland, is made in Europe and features a black polypropylene core containing up to 80% recycled content by weight.
The new Black Core board is fully recyclable and qualifies for disposal through the FESPA Waste Management Scheme, offering a responsible end-of-life solution for businesses looking to reduce their environmental footprint.
It is also available to be carbon captured, on request, through Premier's sustainability scheme in partnership with the Woodland Trust, further enhancing its sustainability credentials.
The new board option has been released as part of Premier’s commitment to providing environmentally responsible solutions for the print and display industry.

The eTEC AIR Bubble Board was first previewed at The Print Show 2024, as part of Premier Paper’s display of substrate solutions.
