Wide-format print provider, Wye Media, has announced the successful installation of a Titanium 1113 digital cutter from International Graphics Supplies (IGS).

The kit purchase followed a significant surge in wide-format sales from Wye Media and aims to tackle a finishing bottleneck from previous manual cutting processes.

The Titanium 1113 is designed for precision and speed, handling everything from packaging prototypes to heavy-duty signage. By bringing this technology in-house, Wye Media hopes to cut and crease a wider variety of substrates, ensuring faster delivery for time-sensitive projects.

The decision to invest in the Titanium 1113 was reportedly sparked by a recommendation from a former colleague at EPC Cwmbran, who has operated a larger Titanium 2516 model for over five years.

For Chris McGowan, owner of Wye Media, the search for a solution required a machine that balanced industrial-grade reliability with affordability. He says: "When you hear that a machine has been running reliably for over half a decade in a high-pressure environment, it makes the decision very easy.

“The Titanium 1113 provides the exact versatility we were looking for, allowing us to maintain our high standards while significantly increasing our throughput."

The installation process was made smoother by the Titanium software’s native driver, which worked with Wye Media’s existing Caldera workflow, thereby making job output more intuitive and easy to handle.

Because of this native software integration, the company was able to produce its first live production job within hours of the machine being commissioned.

Peter Flynn, managing director at IGS, adds: "We are absolutely delighted to see the Titanium 1113 installed at Wye Media.

"It is incredibly rewarding to know that a large portion of our revenue continues to be driven by word-of-mouth and repeat purchases. There is no better testament to the quality of our equipment than a long-term customer telling a peer that this works."
