Ultima Displays has invested in a range of new HP Latex equipment to strengthen and expand its capacity at three locations across the UK and Europe

Trade-only display solutions manufacturer, Ultima Displays, has invested in a raft of new HP print technology, aiming to strengthen and expand its offering at its facilities across Europe.
Among the kit upgrades, Ultima Displays’ UK arm took delivery of a new HP Latex R2000 at its facility in Corby in May, after finalising the investment at this year’s FESPA Global Print Expo.
The machine, which was purchased from and installed by approved HP partner, Papergraphics, offers a range of improvements in comparison to previous models including access to new applications like short-run special packaging and printed thermoforming.
The R2000 boasts speeds of up to 86sq m/hr in indoor mode, running both five-litre colour cartridges and three-litre white cartridges.
The new machine is running alongside a number of other HP printers at Ultima’s UK facility. These include a HP Latex 800W, which is primarily used for flexible graphics, as well as a HP Stitch S1000 and HP Stitch S500 for dye sublimation textile printing.
Speaking of the kit purchase, Dave Bonehill, director of operations at Ultima Displays, says: “This was a strategic choice – it aligns with our existing setup as most of our current machines are HP, enabling streamlined reporting, consistency in quality, and a unified user interface across devices.
“The printer allows us to more than double our rigid board printing capacity, dramatically reducing lead times, which is a critical factor in the fast-paced retail and event sectors.”
In addition to the new machine at its UK site, Ultima has also installed a HP Latex FS60W at its facility in Gdańsk, Poland, while its Italian business has recently taken on a HP Stitch S1000.
Ultima Displays Poland installed the HP Latex FS60W in June this year. The machine has a reported top colour printing speed of 89sq m/hr, as well as 54sq m/hr in white colour mode.
Piotr Brzoskowski, director of operations at Ultima Displays Poland, says: “The new HP Latex FS60W was introduced primarily to modernise our latex print capabilities with the latest technology.
“The HP Latex FS60W provides high-opacity white ink, enabling striking prints on transparent and dark media. Advanced printhead technology improves sharpness and colour consistency, and its robust media handling supports smooth, high-volume production.”

Ultima Displays Italy signed a deal at the DemoDay HP event in Sant Cugat, Barcelona, to purchase its second HP Stitch S1000 dye-sublimation machine, supporting the company’s expansion plans across the continent.
Running at a maximum production speed of 220sq m/hr in two-pass mode, the HP Stitch S1000 can print on media up to 3.2 wide, printing at resolutions of up to 1200dpi.
Following the purchases, Ultima Displays has stated that it will consider further investment from HP to support longer-term growth plans in regions worldwide.
Ultima Displays currently comprises of 15 businesses around the world, under the management of parent company, P3 Group.
The display solutions provider will exhibit at this year’s edition of The Print Show, presenting a wide range of its solutions at Stand P140 of the trade exhibition. The Print Show, which is co-located alongside The Sign Show for the first time this year, takes place at Hall 3 of NEC Birmingham from September 23rd to 25th.
HP will also exhibit this year at Stand S300 of The Sign Show, after a six-year absence from UK print trade exhibitions. HP’s 80sq m stand will promote a range of its latest wide-format solutions including the HP Latex 730 and 830 series, as well as the recently released HP Latex R530.
