At drupa swissQprint presented a conceptual study of an unloading option aimed at increasing efficiency in flatbed printing

Producer of wide-format kit, swissQprint, recently presented its flexible automation option at drupa in Düsseldorf.

The solution has been made to maintain high productivity in flatbed printing by relieving operators of unloading tasks.

The company’s presence at drupa 2024 was another example of the increased presence of digital and wide-format technology at the large print show where swissQprint saw more businesses research its technology in order to embrace its commitment to longevity and quality.

Carmen Eicher, chief of sales and marketing officer at swissQprint, explains: “More and more customers are looking to automate their printing processes while preserving flexibility.”

SwissQprint presented visitors with an initial presentation of a unloading option which removes processed media up 3.2x2 metres from the flatbed printer’s table in order to ease the burden of handling large runs efficiently.

“Drupa is now the perfect opportunity to show the conceptual study and collect broad-based feedback that will go into final development,” says Eicher.

The solution will continue to be tailored to the needs of the market with the finished product expected to be available in 2025.

The unloading option was just part of a wide range of solutions showcased at drupa where swissQprint got to host a range of live demos. The Kudu was highlighted as “first and foremost” especially as it was the model used to present the unloading option.

Also on the stand was the Karibu 2 and the Nyala which swissQprint says has been Europe’s best-selling flatbed printer in its class for the last nine years.
