Digital print press manufacturer, Roland DG, has announced the expanded availability of its D‑EA2 multi‑colour eco‑solvent inks, which are now compatible with the TrueVIS XP‑640 wide-format eco-solvent printer.

Launched initially for Roland’s DGXPRESS printers in 2025, the D‑EA2 ink line has now been extended to support Roland DG’s TrueVIS XP-640, in response to market demand for more cost-efficient ink options.

The upgraded D‑EA2 inks can reportedly deliver up to 40% of cost savings compared to the XP-640’s existing TrueVIS TH inks.

With colour options including CMYK + red, orange, green, and light black, the enhanced D‑EA2 ink set has been developed to deliver a wide gamut, allowing sign shops and PSPs to achieve brand‑accurate colour output at a more affordable running cost than comparable ink sets.

The new multi‑colour D‑EA2 configuration is designed to enable sharp colour reproduction, smooth gradients, and high vibrancy for applications including signage, labels, vehicle graphics, and retail displays.

Operating with a piezo ink-jet method, the TrueVIS XP‑640 offers a maximum print resolution of 1,800dpi and a media width of up to 1,625mm, with its standard eco-solvent inks offered in 500ml cartridges.

Ryugo Nimura, executive officer, Global Sales and Marketing division, at Roland DG, says: “By expanding D‑EA2 multi‑colour compatibility to our TrueVIS XP‑640, we’re making premium print quality more accessible than ever, especially for customers in emerging markets.

“This upgrade delivers the wider colour gamut and reliability customers expect from TrueVIS, while dramatically reducing running costs. It’s the perfect time for print providers to step up in quality, capability, and confidence.”

The D-EA2 inks are currently only available in select European and Asian markets. A full list of available markets can be found on the Roland DG website, or by speaking to your local Roland DG representative.
