Mimaki Europe, a manufacturer of industrial inkjet printers and cutting plotters, has announced the new UJV200-160 and UJV200-130 which make up the JV200 series of UV roll-to-roll printers which will be showcased for the first time in EMEA at FESPA Global Print Expo 2026 in Barcelona.

The new solution has been highlighted by Hybrid Services, Mimaki's exclusive distributor for the UK and Ireland, emphasising the series' media versatility and high image quality.

The new UJV200-160 was previewed at an exclusive media event on March 30th, 2026, at Mimaki’s regional headquarters in the Netherlands.

At the event, general marketing manager, Danna Drion, and Arjen Evertse, director of sales at Mimaki Europe, both welcomed visitors to a day of information, engagement, and the unveiling of the UJV200 to the media.

During the event Drion and Evertse gave a presentation recapping many of the releases Mimaki has recently released, including the popular 330 Series, which has become Mimaki’s flagship model, delivering professional performance across eco-solvent, UV, and textile applications.

The 330 Series started in March 2022 and has led to the CJV330, the Tx330 direct-to-textile (DTT) printer, the TS330-1800 wide-format sublimation printer, and most recently the UJ330H-160 hybrid UV printer which was released at the beginning of the month.

The UJ330H-160 has been described by Mimaki as the “Next Standard” as it can switch between roll and rigid media and has a compact space-saving design, which is suited to small print and signage shops, which Mimaki is continuing to serve and provide products for.

During the presentation, and the day as a whole, Mimaki talked about how it was helping printers and sign-makers diversify their offerings and offer more than traditional print and signage by expanding into areas like bespoke products with synthetic leather, and carpet and walls for exhibition stands.

This has led to the Mimaki 200 Series which was first launched in September 2024, with the CJV200 solvent print and cut machine that then led to the JV200-160 and the TS200-1600 sublimation printer.

The series is made as an entry-level platform with a single-head 200 engine, which is a spin-off of Mimaki’s 330 Series. The CJV200 print and cut solution has been one of the most popular products in Mimaki’s portfolio with over 1,300 sold in Europe since its launch.

The UJV200 is a roll-to-roll UV printer and features MAPS4 technology for streak-free prints as well as variable dot technology for smooth gradients and solid colours. The press was highlighted by Evertse as one of the few machines on the market than can produce skin tones without any grain, as well as solid colours and sharp fine lines.

Speaking of the release, Evertse says: “With the UJV200, we are bringing together three key elements our customers are looking for today: consistent high image quality, ease of use, and the flexibility of UV printing.

“This combination allows print service providers (PSPs) to expand into new applications, work across a wider range of media and respond faster and confidently to customer demands, without adding complexity to their operations.”

The printer’s Dot Adjustment System (DAS2) has been implemented to enable automatic image quality adjustment with reduced setup time and media consumption. The printer’s UV technology also means the UJV200 utilises instant ink curing, which allows printers to be handled, finished, and installed immediately after production.

The series also has white and clear inks so that three-layer printing can be achieved, on top of typical applications such as window graphics, backlit displays, labels, and decorative elements.

The press offers "high-end technology in a more affordable body" according to Mimaki

Evertse adds: “Our focus is not only on performance, but on enabling our customers to grow. The UJV200 has been designed to support both established print businesses and those looking to expand into UV, offering a reliable and flexible solution that adapts to different production environments.”

When asked by SignLink about how this new series and other Mimaki products can help customers facing rising costs and global challenges, Evertse said that many of its solutions are helping in regard to labour costs, regarding automation, and giving good ROI.

Fitting with Mimaki’s focus on listening to its customers and addressing the needs of small to medium sized print and sign companies, Evertse believes that many while cost increases are tough to navigate for any industry, Mimaki’s ink saving technology and the lower costs of UV technology can help businesses curb certain incremental increases.

The new UJV200 will be on show as part of a wider showcase of Mimaki technology at this year’s FESPA exhibition in Barcelona between May 19th and 22nd at the Fira de Barcelona on Stand D95 in Hall 3. Mimaki’s focus at the event will be “Print Different” which the company sees as customers turning innovation into “real business opportunities”.
