Konica Minolta Business Solutions UK has partnered with design and print specialist KGK Genix, to add small-format print production to the company’s in-house offerings.

Chiefly known for its retail graphics and display activations, KGK Genix has expanded its offerings to include a range of brand projects such as corporate brochures and packaging designs.

Konica Minolta supplied and installed an AccurioPress C12000 at KGK Genix’s recently expanded production facility in Essex, as part of the company’s new production line.

Along with finishing equipment from Morgana, KGK Genix’s investment in the C12000 enables it to control small-format jobs on-site, delivering a new revenue stream alongside its core wide-format production.

KGK Genix will use the C12000 for a variety of SRA3 work, this includes retail products such as swing-tags and instore ticketing, along with business cards and brochures. It will also use the press to produce die-cut stickers, which are then laminated and run through a digital die-cutting machine.

Bringing work that was previously outsourced in-house has enabled the company to reduce lead times and improve quality control, according to the company. The investment has also allowed for fully assured colour matching between products.

In a statement about the kit installation, Graham Pitts, group managing director at KGK Genix, cites the reliability and speed of the machine as being core reasons for choosing the C12000.

Pitts says: “Konica Minolta’s AccurioPress C12000 is an excellent fit for offering a small-format service alongside our core wide-format production, delivering high-quality results and full integration with the Morgana finishing systems coupled with a long lifespan and unbeatable reliability.

“The volumes we can run through the new line are very impressive and the AccurioPress C12000 is so cost-efficient that it will pay for itself within nine months.”

Pitts also highlights the continued collaboration between Konica Minolta and Morgana, adding: “The close relationship between Konica Minolta and Morgana has made it easier for us to create the automated small-format line we wanted to open up new revenue streams.”

Steve Maslen, commercial print major account manager at Konica Minolta UK, says: “Graham and the KGK Genix team are driving remarkable growth by understanding market needs and selecting the right technology to meet these.

“Working closely with them, we have delivered a small-format line that will fuel further growth, opening new opportunities with both existing and new customers in a rapidly evolving market.”
