ARC UK, a part of global print and document company ARC Technologies, has installed a Fujifilm Acuity Ultra Hybrid LED in order to enhance local production capabilities and boost sustainability and innovation within the company.

Started as a print service provider in London, the business is now part of 140 global locations providing print, design, signage, and scanning services to a range of brands and companies including EDF, Virgin Media, GSK, Amazon, and Disney.

Last year ARC UK announced it was actively looking to acquire other print businesses in order to strengthen its reach and help grow the brand.

The company’s new hardware has been installed in Dartford, Kent, just a stone’s throw away from where Fujifilm’s wide-format division is headquartered.

The printer runs at speeds of up to 315m2/hr (RTR) and delivers print resolution of up to 1200 x 1200dpi.

Sourcing inks and technology locally is deeply important to ARC, especially as it serves businesses in the community and nationwide.

The Acuity Ultra Hybrid LED allows for high quality printing on both rigid and flexible media, making it “ideal” for ARC UK’s broad range of applications including packaging, fabric printing, retail displays, and exhibition graphics.

Darren Moorhouse, head of sales EMEA at ARC Technologies, says: “The Acuity Ultra Hybrid LED has given us the ability to take on more jobs than ever. It prints remarkably high quality on both rigid and flexible media, and thanks to its LED curing technology, it has massively increased our throughput and transformed our business, all while lowering our energy consumption".

The investment in Fujifilm technology also aligns with ARC’s sustainability initiatives including its Print & Plant project which means one tree gets planted for every 833 sheets printed.

Ross Snell, vice president EMEA at ARC Technologies, comments: "Fujifilm has been an amazing partner. They listened to our feedback and adapted the machine to meet our needs, particularly in working with new materials.

"The speed and throughput are unmatched, and Fujifilm's support has ensured that the installation was seamless. We’re excited about the future and believe Fujifilm is the perfect partner for our business".

ARC UK is investing heavily in wide-format print and displays as it has recently teamed up with Xanita to create a new UK Xanita Showroom.

On April 2nd and 3rd, the company will host an exclusive open day event at its facility where visitors can meet experts from ARC, Antalis, and Xanita.
