Juno from Type Creative has won the trophy for the inaugural award
The first winner has been chosen for the Pets in Print Trophy, an award set up by supplier of wide-format and super-wide format media, Innotech Digital.
Juno, chief welfare officer for Type Creative, has been crowned the winner due to her warming smile and strong work ethic.
The award was judged by well-known industry personalities, Colin Sinclair McDermott, the Online Print Coach along with Jack Gocher and Kathryn Ridout from Eye on Display.
Sinclair McDermott says: “This was such a hard competition to judge because the entries were so strong. However, we felt the winner showed a great combination of the print industry's hard-working ethic and extreme cuteness.”
Juno’s role in print at Type Creative is to meet and greet visitors as well as bring “a ray of sunshine to everyone” at the business.
Gocher and Ridout add: “We both had a very long shortlist, and it could have gone many ways. But in the end, we agreed that Juno deserved the trophy as she has a clear role within the company, proudly wore her bandana, and sat beautifully to pose. She is obviously such a good girl.”
The award meant that Innotech printed 100 bandanas for pets including dogs, cats, and more to wear for pictures to be uploaded to social media with a description of why they deserve to win the Pets in Print Trophy.
The project was started to celebrate the role of office pets which help “keep the print industry moving”.
Judges also gave a variety of extra recognition awards including runners-up Digby from Harlequin Clothing and Izzy from 4site Implementation.
Awards also went to pets such as Moose from Digital Wordcrafts who won “The Hardest Worker Award” as well as “Best Name in Print” for Printz from Colourfast and The Long Service Award for SignLink’s very own office therapist, Skye.
Kieran Dallow, marketing manager for Innotech and Type Creative director, Liam Charlton presented Juno with the trophy, some doggie doughnuts, and a certificate for the office.
Speaking on Juno’s behalf, Charlton says: “We are very proud of Juno for winning this award. She brings real joy to the office and is always prepared to offer a helping paw. The office is a brighter place when she is here.”
