FASTSIGNS Manchester has provided free signage and services to Love of Lacey, a local charity founded by the parents of a child who passed away suddenly in 2018

FASTSIGNS Manchester has partnered with Dukinfield-based charity, Love of Lacey, to support its efforts in raising awareness of sudden unexplained death in childhood (SUDC).
SUDC is defined as the sudden, unexpected death of a child where the cause remains unexplained even after a thorough investigation and autopsy.
As the name suggests, the exact cause of SUDC is currently unknown. While research is ongoing, there are currently no known risk factors, prevention strategies, or definitive causes for SUDC.
According to a BBC report, it is estimated that about 40 children over the age of one die suddenly every year in the UK – more than young child deaths from traffic accidents, fires, or drowning.
Love of Lacey was founded by the parents of seven-year-old, Lacey Warburton, who sadly passed away in 2018 from SUDC.
The registered charity works to honour Lacey’s legacy through a variety of community projects including funding and placing publicly accessible defibrillators and developing a retreat space to support bereaved families.
To support the charity’s ongoing fundraising and outreach, FASTSIGNS Manchester donated professional design services and promotional signage including banners in Love of Lacey’s signature colours, highlighting its mission to raise money for community defibrillators.
The banners feature a QR code that can be scanned to donate to the charity and get involved.
Discussing the partnership, Aaron Woodward, head of business development at FASTSIGNS Manchester, comments: “We’re honoured to support Love of Lacey and the incredible work its team do in memory of Lacey.
“Their commitment to both raising awareness of SUDC and ensuring life-saving resources like defibrillators are accessible in the community is truly admirable, and something we were only too eager to support them with. “
Speaking about the support, Ray Warburton, says: “We’d like to thank FASTSIGNS Manchester for the incredible support they’ve provided.
“The signage donated will hopefully help us reach more people and raise greater awareness of our mission. We set up the charity after losing our daughter, Lacey, to SUDC at just seven years old, and we’re so grateful for the support from local businesses like FASTSIGNS.”
Explaining the charity’s goals for the future, Ray adds: “We’re raising money to install defibrillators in the community, raise awareness of SUDC, and work towards our dream of building a retreat for bereaved families. This will go a long way to helping us achieve those ambitions.”
