Stand design and construction company Guardian Display recently launched full-scale production on the Vanguard machine

Guardian Exhibition & Display has launched full-scale production on a Vanguard roll-to-roll printer installed at its Essex headquarters, with reportedly “unbelievable” results.
The deal, handled by managing director of SEDO Large Format Solutions Andy McGuiness, represents the first roll-to-roll machine from Vanguard to be sold in the UK. SEDO is a partner of Vanguard Europe’s UK distributor, Westcoast.
The Vanguard VKR3200-HS UV-LED printer, launched on October 1st at Guardian Display’s Southend base-of-operations, is part of the company’s ambitions to transform to a full-service exhibition company. The company has claimed that the transformation will double its £2.2m turnover within the next two years.
Features of the VKR3200-HS in comparison to previous models include a new Elysian ink series and an extended colour gamut. The machine is designed to handle materials such as static cling, paper, vinyl, mesh, and textiles.
The printer comes with dual roll capability which is designed to enhance workflow and productivity. Additional features include a mesh kit for perforated media and a backlit lightbox for display purposes.
Managing director of Guardian Display Anthony Booty has reportedly been very impressed by the printer, highlighting the machine’s “unbelievable” print quality.
Booty says: “The Vanguard will be generating the bulk of our extra revenue. It has expanded my mind as to what we can do in different markets.
“We’re already seeing enquiries and many new orders from outside our traditional markets such as fitting out offices and showrooms with large vinyls and wallpaper. If we carry on at this rate, the machine will pay for itself in 18 months. By taking printing in-house, we have saved 75% of the previous costs.”
Speaking of the thinking behind the purchase, Booty explains: “We chose a four-colour machine; the quality is absolutely brilliant, and the colour vibrancy is unbelievable. The Vanguard VKR3200-HS is incredibly productive and will enable us to take on work at the last minute that previously we had to turn down.”

Yiannis Apostolidis, business development director at Vanguard Europe, says: “Guardian Display is a perfect example of how increasing numbers of customers are seeing the benefits of scaling up production in-house with our multi-award-winning printers.
“Working together in partnership, we work tirelessly to ensure an investment will lead to profitable business. The Vanguard VKR3200-HS is the newest member of our growing product portfolio that benefits from the flexibility of the new ink series and extended colour gamut.”
SEDO, established in 2005, is a UK reseller of digital print machinery. Working mainly in the large- and wide-format print area. The company supplies printers, scanners, finishing equipment, software, laminators, storage solutions, and consumables.
Vanguard has also announced a series of business partnerships with European companies in recent months.
In August, wide-format service provider Mirage Group was confirmed as a new partner for Vanguard Europe. The agreement covers the territories of Bulgaria, Malta, and North Macedonia.
In the same month, it was announced that French supplier Fogepack Systemes would also partner with Vanguard in a comprehensive agreement that would include sales, distribution, service, and consumables.
