Epson announces latest addition to signage printing market
The SC-S9100 is designed for sign-makers and print service providers (PSPs), creating colour-accurate prints for a variety of large-format print applications
Freestyle Designs in Bath is the first UK customer of the new Agfa Anapurna Ciervo H3200
A specialist in signage solutions, Freestyle Designs, has been announced as the first UK customer of the new Agfa Anapurna Ciervo H3200 print engine which was unveiled at FESPA Global Print Expo earlier this year.
As an early adopter of the technology, Freestyle Designs will now be an Agfa Beta site and receive additional technical support when “rigorously” testing the commercial benefits of the new machine.
Established in 2008 by Jayson Godridge, Freestyle Designs operates in Bath with a ten-person team offering a range of services like signage, wide-format print, office interiors, vehicle wraps, and hoardings.
The Anapurna Ciervo H3200 is a hybrid wide-format inkjet printer with 3.2m print width and has the ability to print on a range of rigid and roll media for indoor and outdoor applications. The printer uses UV LED technology and prints using 16 inkjet heads with the capability to use CMYKLcLm and white inks.
Speaking about the £200K investment, Godridge says: “In 2021, we bought our first Agfa hybrid printer to replace an old flatbed Mimaki machine that we had outgrown. At the time, we chose the smaller 2.5m Agfa Anapurna model due to space limitations in our old location. This new printer was a game changer for us, offering robust performance and significantly increased capacity compared to the old press, without any sacrifice in quality.”
Godridge saw the Anapurna Ciervo under a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) in late 2023 before visiting Antwerp in Belgium where the Freestyle team saw the machine in its “Alpha form”.
James Argent sales manager (South) at Agfa, helped with the installation of the machine, adding: “As this was the first installation of an Anapurna Ciervo in the UK, we decided to relocate their old Anapurna to a different area of the production unit while keeping it operational to provide our customer with peace of mind and to ensure no downtime for their business. We then installed the new, larger engine in its place.”
Printers and sign-makers will be able to see the Agfa Anapurna Ciervo H3200 at this year’s Print Show at the NEC in Birmingham from September 17th to 19th, Hall 17.
