HP says the new machines have been designed to deliver precision, quality, and productivity, helping customers grow profitably.
With the FESPA Global Print Expo fast approaching, we highlight some of the substrate and media solutions on display at the popular four-day exhibition held this year in Munich

A number of manufacturers of substrates and media will be on hand at FESPA Global Print Expo in Munich to show their latest developments. From textiles to vinyl and PVC-free options, there will be plenty for visitors to see.

Berger Textiles, a supplier of textiles for wide-format digital printing, interior décor, and apparel, will be launching its new ‘Architecture’ product portfolio.
According to the company, the new additions, Shift and Absorber, are high performance functional textiles for interior architectural applications.

Absorber offers two noise-absorbing materials which are designed to improve acoustics in areas such as offices and hospitality environments.
Also launching are two soft signage materials: Moon, a new grey-back polyester textile, and Icon which is a new 100% cotton canvas for dye-sublimation printing.
Apparel fabrics will also be introduced by Berger in the form of Single Jerseys available with or without pre-treatment for pigment printing.
Berger Textiles will exhibit alongside its sister company Spandex Group brand ImagePerfect which offers printable and coloured self-adhesive materials and tools for sign-making.
The Folex Group will be demonstrating its range of large-format print media used in advertising and textile transfer applications. These will include the DIALUX SI 129 backlit film made from post-consumer polyester.
Other products suited to the environmentally-conscious include the REGUsign series for tarpaulin, vehicle wrapping and façade lettering which are based on papers from sustainable forestry instead of being made from PVC film.
The Folatrans series aimed at the textile transfer films market is also moving in a more sustainable direction, according to Folex, with the solutions being low in pollutants.

At FESPA 2023, Guandong’s aim is to consolidate its sales network and strengthen its distributors network. On its stand, the company will showcase a new catalogue of media designed for temporary displays such as point of sale.
This includes plastic materials and new fabric solutions. The stand itself will be designed as a display area simulating a real point of sale area, combining the needs of a pop-up store with interior decoration.
Guandong will demonstrate its range of offerings through catalogues, brochures, and sample kits available in pocket-sized versions. The company will also be offering digital tools such as an app where photos, videos, and case studies can be found.
Designed for short-life, quick turnaround applications such as retail, the products have been developed by Guandong’s in-house R&D team and are engineered to be fast to install and remove, with a focus on the environment.
Edoardo Elmi, founder of Guandong Italia, explains: “A wise and careful choice of materials can contribute to reducing the environmental impact of displays, as well as promote a circular economy, contributing to the sustainable development of the entire sector.”

Also focusing on the environment in its solutions is Neschen Coating. The company will be demonstrating its PVC-free range with PP and PET products as well as its paper-based solutions.
The company says that as demand for PVC-free solutions continues to grow, it offers alternatives such as PP, PET, and paper-based materials.
At FESPA 2023, the company will be showing its graphic product portfolio and laminators through an eye-catching design under the theme of ‘The Forest’. Visitors will be welcomed into the green setting to discuss Neschen’s environmental offering.
These include Neshcen’s versatile green easy dot and easySTYLE films, and sustainable wallpapers. Launching at the event is the new easy dot PET transparent L-UV film for glass applications such as shop windows and doors.
In addition to the films, Neschen will be showing its ColdLam 1650 laminator which has been designed for mounting and laminating prints up to 1650mm wide.
Richard Bachora, head of Business Unit Graphics at Neschen, comments: “As always, we have developed an extraordinary design to attractively showcase our products and are already looking forward to meeting our customers and interested visitors.
“It is important for us to show that sustainability and environmental awareness do not have to mean that a product is less powerful when making a purchasing decision. On the contrary, we’re communicating how the printing and advertising industry can make an impact on the state of the environment without having to lower their standards, thanks to green alternatives.”

Manufacturer of sustainable woodfibre products, Sappi, will be showcasing a range of high quality papers under the theme ‘Maximise the Visual Impact of Your Application’.
The company will use its presence to focus on sublimation papers, corrugated base papers, and silicone base papers for a range of self-adhesive applications.
Four lounge areas will feature on the stand with Sappi experts on hand to offer in-dept discussions on the products.
Claudia Pöckl, marketing communications specialist at Sappi Europe, explains: “We opted for the theme ‘Maximise the Visual Impact of Your Application’ which clearly expresses what our papers from the three product areas we are showcasing have in common and what they offer. With a high-quality standard, they ensure that our customers’ end-products benefit from the best possible visual impact.”
