Hybrid Services has announced a flatbed-focused open day as the first in a line of Mimaki showcase events, coinciding with recent releases and sales of Mimaki flatbed solutions

Hybrid Services, the exclusive distributor of Mimaki solutions in the UK and Ireland, is launching a series of technology showcase events throughout 2025, with the first event scheduled for next week.
The first showcase event will be a deep dive into flatbed print solutions, taking place on Wednesday April 30th at Hybrid’s showroom in Crewe, Cheshire.
The event, run in partnership with Premier and KeenCut, will highlight the latest in flatbed printing and finishing solutions, enabling visitors to discover how their businesses can expand into direct-to-substrate (DTS) applications, with live demonstrations on a range of sheet media.
Further events will be announced throughout the year, with each session tailored to provide practical insights and real-world applications that attendees can implement within their businesses.
Attendance at all the events is free, but spaces are limited. Businesses interested in attending have been encouraged to visit the Hybrid Services website, where more details including registration information can be found.
A number of recent sales of Mimaki flatbed solutions have been announced in the UK, following recent releases by the Japanese manufacturer.
Earlier this month, PrintMAX, a specialist reseller of Mimaki products through Hybrid, announced that it secured the first UK sale of the recently released JFX200-1213 EX UV-LED flatbed.
The sale of the 1213 EX took place at printMAX’s own recent flatbed-focused open day, at its facility in Selborne, Hampshire.

Speaking about the sale, Michael Bolton, managing director of printMAX, says: “It was great to secure the first UK sale at our recent Mimaki flatbed open day. The customer was able to see the printer with their own artwork and it was easy to demonstrate the versatility and quality that the Mimaki JFX would bring to their business.”
The medium-format solution, first unveiled at the PRINTING United 2024 in Las Vegas, is designed to enable businesses to expand their production capabilities without requiring the space of a traditional wide-format printer.
Speaking to SignLink in a recent video interview, Andy Gregory, sales director for Hybrid Services, said: “The 1213 EX machine essentially takes all of the high-end technology that was in the standard JFX200… and has brought it in a slightly smaller package.”
Lancashire print business, Wolf & Flower, also recently invested in a Mimaki UJF-6042MkII e UV flatbed, in order to diversify its product range.
Established since 2019, Wolf & Flower supplies an international customer base with bespoke printed and laser cut signage. Its founder, Samatha Fleetwood, chose the Mimaki solution in order to create more elaborate designs and reduce reliance on outsourcing.
Mimaki will demonstrate a wide range of solutions at the upcoming FESPA Global Print Expo, taking place from May 6th to 9th in Berlin. These include its JFX600-2513 2.5m x 1.3m flatbed, which boasts speeds of up to 200m2/hr.
