Signbox, a supplier of architectural signage, wayfinding systems, and digital display solutions, has announced that Stewart Signs has acquired a majority stake in the company.

Based in Egham, Surrey, Signbox has been known in the industry for winning several awards and working with several brands and businesses such as Microsoft UK, British Airways, and Cancer Research UK.

Established in 1985, Signbox’s website now lists the company as a “Stewart Signs Company”. Both businesses say the acquisition brings together the expertise of Signbox and Stewart Signs to create a “powerhouse” across the UK visual communications and graphic market.

Stewart Signs was founded in 1963 and specialises in full-service graphic production and application across fleet, rail, marine, out-of-home (OOH), and public sectors.

Gareth Livingstone, managing director at Stewart Signs, says: “Bringing Signbox into the Stewart Signs family is another fantastic step forward in our journey.

“Their specialist knowledge and proven track record in architectural signage allow us to expand our capabilities. This strategic move paves the way for both businesses to offer greater value through expanded capabilities, enhanced design innovation and operational synergy.”

Both companies have confirmed that Mark Bartlett, managing director, and Matthew Wilkins, director at Signbox, will continue in executive roles, ensuring continuity for customers.

“I’m excited with this dynamic new chapter in our story; joining forces with Stewart Signs unites two iconic names in the signage world,” says Bartlett.

“By blending Signbox’s passion for architectural innovation with Stewart Signs’ rich heritage and renowned capabilities, we’re unlocking fresh possibilities for our clients.”
