Dragon Signs and Colour Studios, two businesses under the Dragon Group umbrella, have thrown their support behind the Anniversary Game of the University of Bath and Cardiff Metropolitan University.
The game will take place at The Rec in Bath at 6:30pm and is meant to mark the University of Bath being granted its Royal Charter on October 25th, 1966.
The event is a highlight of the Bath student sporting calendar and is huge crowd pleaser, attracting around 6,000 spectators at last year’s Bath 40-13 victory over then-champions Durham.
Cardiff Met and University of Bath have a long-standing rivalry which Dragon Signs says will be ‘reignited’ at tonight’s game.
The sponsorship is particularly meaningful as Colour Studios, based in Radstock, has a long relationship with the University of Bath, while Dragons Signs has a link to Cardiff Met due to both being based in Wales’s capital city.
Nathan Black, commercial director for Dragon Group, comments: “At Colour Studios and Dragon Signs, we are delighted to be sponsoring the Anniversary Game and proud to be involved in such a prestigious event at an iconic venue like The Rec.
“Dragon Signs is based in Cardiff, so there is a link to the opposing team too, but I promise I’ll be wearing my Bath colours on the night!
Aaron James, head of Rugby at the University of Bath, adds: “It’s great to have Colour Studios and Dragon Signs come on board for such a big occasion. We are indebted to all our sponsors, they are invaluable to not just the management of the club but to putting on these showcase events which are brilliant for the students, the University, and the public.
“Cardiff Met are our Varsity opponents so there is always a healthy rivalry on and off the pitch. We are expecting quite a bit of away support and I’m sure our fans will turn out in big numbers again and provide plenty of noise.”
