Clear Channel UK has announced a new contract with London North Eastern Railway (LNER) that will mean transforming the rail operator’s advertising estate over the next seven years.

The latest deal will see Clear Channel invest millions of pounds in an overhaul of LNER advertising sites across different stations. The work will see new state-of-the-art digital screens along with upgraded existing screens and a reduced amount of overall advertising panels.

Clear Channel hopes the work will benefit passengers and contribute to an improved station environment via more relevant and engaging local advertising.

Richard Bon, UK joint managing director and Europe commercial lead at Clear Channel UK, says: “We’re excited to be back on the railways as we collaborate with LNER on revitalising advertising across its network.

“Our new partnership brings together a shared vision that delivers great experiences for our partners, brands, audiences, and communities and we look forward to seeing how that takes shape in the future.”

The out-of-home (OOH) media owner will also debut its new Station Live advertising proposition which incorporates full-motion OOH campaigns, designed to fit a variety of screen sizes, budgets, and objectives.

Clear Channel will also use its Platform for Good with the creation of the LNER Community Innovation to benefit passengers and surrounding communities. Funds from the project will be used on social value initiatives alongside donated media space from Clear Channel, equating to a worth of £500,000.
