Interior film the choice for corporate gym

A financial firm in Canary Wharf has opted for interior film over other options such as paint and new hardware when giving its private-use corporate gym a facelift.

Having inherited a number of large cupboards from different parts of the building and wanting to repurpose them in the gym area, the client turned to vinyl wrapping specialist Reface Solutions for help.

Not needing to replace the cupboards due to the option of wrapping meant the project was also a sustainable one which appealed to the financial firm.

Reface Solutions opted for vinyl from Cover Styl’ which offers a range of colours and finishes with nearly 500 patterns in its portfolio.

Ideal for a range of substrates, the vinyl conforms to heat and are not limited to flat surfaces and can be applied quickly with minimum disruption.

According to Lee Soloman, chief executive of Reface Solutions, the main challenge was that the client hadn’t heard of wrapping before so there was a lack if trust with the product. “To alleviate this situation, we tested a Cover Styl’ Grey K6 on one section of a cupboard for a two-month period to see if it stood up to the normal conditions and footfall in the gym,” he explains.

“It passed the test with flying colours and the project could then go ahead. We employed Dwain from Wraptxture to assist us in the installation of the product, which we had to do out of hours and during the break between Christmas and New Year, when the building was closed.”

Soloman praises supplier William Smith for the availability of stock it carries and its “exceptional” next-day delivery service as this meant Reface could start the project on time and achieve the client’s requirements.

By using the Cover Styl’ vinyl, the finished product was stylish and durable cupboard fronts and casings which Soloman says have “completely refreshed the look and feel of the environment they are in”.
