Dr. Andreas Penz of Trotec Laser says laser applications are found in all areas of life

Dr. Andreas Penz, a spokesperson of Trotec’s management team, says: “This increase in sales seems incredibly high at first sight, but the laser business is an extremely dynamic one, and laser applications are now found in all major areas of life. For example, in medical engineering.

“We manufacture stents with our laser machines. Or in the field of research, where laser applications are simply indispensable, for example in the development of the Mars Rover.

“Trotec laser technology plays an important role in industry and trade as well. The pivotal question is: why do we make lasers? Answer: we make our customers successful, and this sustainable strategy allows us to grow exponentially.”

The company, which celebrated 20 years in business this summer, has grown from a start-up business to one of the market leaders in laser machines for cutting, marking, and engraving.

It first started out in an industrial container focusing on research and development, and has come a long way to reside in its current eco-friendly headquarters in Upper Austria. Its ethos is based around setting new standards in the laser industry.

Trotec has an install base of over 30,000 systems, serving customers in more than 90 countries, and employing more than 550 people worldwide.
