Wide-format and large-format print solutions supplier SEDO has opened up about its debut appearance at The Print Show this year, revealing its presence at the event resulted in a series of kit sales.

SEDO says the highlight for the company was getting its name out there

SEDO exhibited at the show for the first time under its own name and used its stand to show a number of machines, including the Epson S80600 eco-solvent, Epson R5000 and Epson T7700D.

The decision to display different models proved to be a hit with visitors, as the SEDO stand near the back of the hall enjoyed steady footfall across the three days of the event.

Such was this success that SEDO was able to sell Epson S80600 on day one of the show, while it also completed sales of two Epson T7700Ds and an EasyMount 1600 sign air laminator in the days after the event.

Andy McGuinness, managing director of SEDO, comments: “The highlight for me was getting our name out there to lots more people and having good conversations about who we are and what we do.

“Cold calling is something we all have to do but nothing beats face to face meetings in front of print equipment.

“One customer in particular is set to save £21,000 per year on ink with the purchase of an Epson S80600; you have to work very hard on a call to get that kind of information from a customer but you are afforded more time at a show to delve into their business and add value.

“We also have lots of follow up demonstrations booked in for the S80600 and R5000, which is great to see.  We’re working with a number of companies who want to find solutions to their current print process that might be cheaper or faster, these are ‘think outside the box’ solutions which we enjoy working on.”

McGuinness adds: “Having never done a show before and seeing the results we have, I think we would need to include trade shows into our marketing budget going forward.

“Chris Davies and the team were brilliant with all of the questions I had and want to thank them for making the show as painless as possible for a newbie.”
