APS Graphics recently installed a Dantex PicoJet 1200 label press at its facilities, in order to diversify its offering and boost its premium label output

Specialist label press manufacturer, Dantex Group, has recently completed the installation of a PicoJet 1200 DRS digital label press for print and signage provider, APS Graphics.
Established initially as Advanced Printing Services UK in 2000, APS has undergone significant transformation in recent years as part of a broader growth strategy focused on diversification and digital production.
Based in Swindon, APS now offers a range of bespoke print and graphics including superwide-format, wide-format, and small-format printing capabilities. The company purchased the PicoJet 1200 to expand its short-run digital label capability.
As its label offering developed, the business identified the need for a production-level inkjet solution capable of delivering white ink, higher volumes, and improved cost efficiency compared with toner-based technology.
Designed and manufactured in the UK, PicoJet forms part of Dantex’s established digital inkjet portfolio and has been configured at APS Graphics with four-colour plus white, variable data printing, and mark sensor capability, enabling the business to meet demand for labels across sectors including brewing, food, and chemicals.
Simon Evers, managing director at APS Graphics, says: “Our label volumes were growing quickly, and customer demand for white ink was increasing.
“Moving to production inkjet was a natural next step, and the PicoJet gave us the quality, flexibility, and efficiency we needed to scale the business with confidence. The addition of white ink has enabled us to expand into new, higher-value applications, particularly for customers seeking increased shelf appeal.”
Evers also highlights the PicoJet’s ability to print onto metallic substrates and combine its four-colour-plus-white ink set with textured varnishes, which allows the company to produce a range of premium labels in the brewery market.
Evers adds: “Compared with toner-based presses operating on click-charge models, the PicoJet offers lower running costs and a wider colour gamut. That allows us to remain highly competitive while maintaining strong print quality and healthy margins.”
Justin Nowell, digital director at Dantex, says: “The PicoJet 1200 DRS has been engineered as a true production inkjet platform, designed to support printers worldwide as they scale, diversify, and compete at the highest level.
“By combining advanced UK-based engineering with Dantex’s global manufacturing, service, and support infrastructure, we can deliver exceptional reliability, performance, and long-term value.”
