Super-Wide Digital has highlighted the impact of a Meevo MX Event sewing machine in allowing it to expand its capacity and target new markets

Superwide-format print supplier to the trade, Super-Wide Digital, has spoken about the impact of a new Meevo MX Event sewing machine which has allowed the company to take on work in new markets.
The Meevo MX Event, which comes with silicone edge automated stitching (SEAS), was purchased from machinery supplier, Soyang Hardware, and was installed at Super-Wide Digital’s specialist production facility in the summer of 2025.
The automated sewing solution automatically joins wide-format panels together, allowing for a range of display textile applications.
While the machine has only been in place for a few months at Super-Wide Digital’s production facility in Bacup, near Manchester, the company has already reported a significant improvement in production.
Andy Huskinson, digital production manager and comms development at Super-Wide Digital, says: “Its high-speed motor and automatic thread cutter save time by streamlining the process.
“This allows us to produce high-quality work quickly, meeting deadlines, and enabling us to produce more output in a shorter timeframe. As one of the early users of silicon edge sewing, we’ve always been heavily involved in silicone edge graphics, but now we feel we can truly push our fabric department to new heights.”
Material already being run on the machine includes backlit, blackback, and frontlit display fabrics, ranging from small lightbox panels to fabrics over five metres in size.

Huskinson says that the machine will allow the company to explore new markets and application types as it continues to expand both its service offering and customer base.
Huskinson comments: “We’re looking forward to seeing how it manages with fabric joins, as this is something we have yet to really try.
“At Super-Wide Digital, we are always seeking to invest in new equipment, and we believe that the Meevo will provide us with the confidence to explore new areas, knowing we have a machine we can rely on.”
Huskinson also reports that the high-precision stitching, particularly on large fabric panels, has resulted in a more consistent and professional finish compared to manual sewing. He adds: “The machine’s automation and efficiency significantly reduce the time taken to produce finished fabrics, enabling faster turnarounds and allowing us to handle larger workloads.
“Additionally, the Meevo’s ability to perform multiple sewing operations on a single unit helps us reduce the cost of running various machines, making it a more economical choice than purchasing separate equipment.”
Soyang Hardware offers a wide array of solutions alongside the Meevo including wide-format presses from Mimaki, Fujifilm, and Jetrix.
Parent company, Soyang Europe, recently secured a ‘Waste Accreditation Champion’ award from FESPA UK Association.
The accreditation is a voluntary scheme designed to promote responsible waste management and recycling across print, signage, and graphics in the UK market. Companies that meet strict criteria across waste-generation, waste outputs, and disposal practices are declared a ‘Champion’ by FESPA UK.
Soyang Europe Group chief executive officer, Mark Mashiter, says: “We’ve been huge supporters of the Waste Accreditation scheme since FESPA UK first launched the initiative almost four years ago. We are honoured to have been recognised for our own efforts in this area and will strive to continue to improve the environmentally friendly products we offer to customers.”
