Mimaki Europe has announced the launch of the new aqueous pigment ink, AP50, designed for use with the company’s Tiger600-1800TS sublimation printer.

The new ink solution brings Mimaki’s Tiger technology to the sign and graphics industries, aiming to provide a high-speed, high-quality, and environmentally responsible solution for printed out-of-home (OOH) advertising.

Equipped with the AP50 pigment ink, the Tiger600-1800TS delivers a reported production speed for any design of up to 220sq m/h.

Arjen Evertse, director sales at Mimaki Europe, says: “Bringing the Tiger600-1800TS to sign and graphics is a game-changer. Recent trends in the OOH advertising sector show growing demand for regional customisation and smaller-scale campaigns.

“As printing volumes per design decrease, traditional offset printing becomes increasingly unfeasible, opening up new opportunities for digital print. By introducing our water-based technology portfolio to this market, we are giving printers a new way to produce vivid, high-volume posters with the quality, speed, and sustainability that define Mimaki.”

The inks provide enhanced red saturation with the aim of ensuring superior visibility and impact for campaign visuals, retail displays, and food advertising.

Designed for digital coated papers similar to those used in latex and solvent printing, the AP50 inks are also designed to ensure easy integration into existing poster production workflows.

Primarily composed of water, AP50 is also scheduled to obtain GREENGUARD Gold certification, which signifies that it meets the highest standards for low chemical emissions.

With 10kg CMYK ink tanks and integrated mini-jumbo feeding system supporting rolls up to 300kg, the Tiger600-1800TS has been developed to support long production runs with fewer interruptions and lower costs per poster.

Evertse adds: “With the AP50 ink, we are combining Mimaki’s colour expertise with water-based innovation to support sustainable, high-speed poster production.

“This new solution gives printers a clear competitive advantage – lowering costs and environmental impact while delivering the vivid, high-impact graphics Mimaki is known for.”
