Swiss manufacturer of wide-format printers, swissQprint, has announced it has started construction of a new premises in the USA in order to better serve customers in the North America region.

The new facility will be based in West Dundee, Illinois, and is approximately ten minutes closer to Chicago O’Hare airport than its current premises.

Spanning 2,300m2, the facility will include a 440m2 showroom and hospitality area, as well as a dedicated training centre for individual and group sessions. The site includes the option to expand an additional 1,394m2 to accommodate future growth.

According to swissQprint, the expansion marks a “significant step” in the company’s growth in North America, where the manufacturer will be able to better showcase its technology and serve local customers.

A ground-breaking ceremony for the new building took place on July 9th, 2025, with work scheduled to be completed by mid-2026. The new building will have around 400 solar panels to supply power from renewable sources, a decision inline with swissQprint’s environmental goals.

Kilian Hintermann, chief executive officer of swissQprint, says: "We continue to see North America as a growth market. This new facility for our US subsidiary is a testament to our commitment to serving our North American customers even better.”

Erik Norman, president of swissQprint America, adds: “The heart of the new facility is the expanded showroom to feature our large-format printers and applications, along with increased capacity for our applications and service teams. All of this designed so that we can deliver exceptional support and experiences for our customers.”

In the UK, swissQprint UK was established as a subsidiary in May 2020 and set up its premises in Berskshire for sales, marketing, demonstrations, and a warehouse for consumables and spare parts. Since establishing itself the company has made a number of significant installations, exhibited at The Print Show for the first time, and released its fifth generation of wide-format models back in January 2025.
