Canon will demonstrate its latest developments at FESPA Global Print Expo, including the Arizona 2380 GTF and Colorado M-series

Canon will reveal its latest wide-format portfolio developments at the upcoming FESPA Global Print Expo, which launches next week in Berlin, Germany.
Solutions demonstrated at Canon’s stand will include the Arizona 2380 GTF flatbed printer which comes with Canon’s FLXflow technology. The solution includes a new airflow technique combined with a zone-less, multi-origin table layout and pneumatic registration pins.
FLXflow comes with three functionalities – Hold, Float and Instant Switch – allowing users to move heavier and irregular-sized media faster and more easily around the table.
The Hold functionality works by keeping the media in place with a patented airflow technique. Using automatic measurement and adjustment of airflow levels to hold various types of media in place, the functionality results in flexible positioning with far less masking than conventional methods.
The new Float functionality is an optional feature that pushes air from the table upwards to create a cushion, enabling easier positioning of heavy or challenging substrates and reducing the risk of media damage or waste.
The Instant Switch functionality allows the operator to change from Hold to Float by using foot pedals, aiming to make it easy to remove media from the table.

The Colorado M-series UVgel roll-to-roll printer will also be on show, printing a variety of wide-format graphics applications live on the stand.
The full range of applications the Colorado can print will be presented, including wallpapers, window graphics, and soft signage. This wide list of substrates is made possible with a number of technology developments, including its FLXfinish+ technology which allows for printing of both matte and gloss at the same time, and a featured dubbed FLXture, designed for subtle surface details.
Multiple configurations featuring the Colorado will be exhibited with different finishing partners to illustrate its application options. These include a wallpaper configuration utilising the Fotoba jumbo roll feeder, cutter, and rewinder. The configuration, situated on Fotoba’s stand, demonstrates how customers can automate the production of mass-customised wallpaper.
The 60-inch imagePROGRAF GP-6600S, part of Canon’s family of water-based inkjet printers, will be also be on display. The press utilises LUCIA PRO II inks, boasting seven channels including orange.
All imagePROGRAF printers use full pigment inks designed to be stronger than dye in terms of resistance to UV or ozone, with the aim of lasting longer without noticeable fading.
LUCIA pigment inks are also humidity resistant, designed for a consistent appearance even outdoors. According to Canon, LUCIA ink can achieve weather resistance without lamination for up to six months.
Stuart Rising, head of Graphic Arts at Canon UK & Ireland, says: “At this year’s FESPA Global Print Expo, we will showcase our latest developments and the breadth of Canon’s wide-format technology portfolio, proving to our customers how we can support them to create impactful applications and open up commercial opportunities.
“By continuously evolving our technologies to have the latest cutting-edge features and print effects and working with our partners to optimise the end-to-end workflow process, PSPs can expand their product offering to provide unique, high-quality applications, whether for retail, interior décor, POS or promotional packaging.”
Canon can be found on stand B10 in Hall 25 between May 6th to 9th in Messe Berlin.
