Exhibition stand supplier, Discount Displays, has installed a new Zünd G3 L-3200 digital cutter after utilising its previous Zünd cutter for 17 years
Discount Displays, a supplier of display products and exhibition stands, has enhanced its production capabilities with the installation of a new Zünd G3 L-3200 digital cutter.
Though Discount Displays previously utilised a Zünd PN Cutter for 17 years, the decision to choose Zünd again reportedly followed an extensive review of other cutting systems.
According to the company, a key reason it went back to the Swiss manufacturer was the strength of its support infrastructure in the UK.
Zund UK offers a nationwide engineering support from its base in Letchworth, Hertfordshire, along with a range of care plan options and post-installation services.
Other features of the Zünd G3 that reportedly stood out for Discount Displays were its modular tooling system. Zünd’s modular design concept allows for tailor-made cutting solutions to be configured to meet specific production needs, designed to increase the flexibility and adaptability of the solution.
The cutter includes integrated camera technology which can reduce setup times, enhance precision, and ensure consistent quality during the production process.
A 1kW router tool allows custom foamex and perspex lettering or logos to be designed in-house, with the aim of reducing reliance on external suppliers and improving turnaround times. The solution can work with materials of a maximum thickness of 110mm.
The G3 is also equipped with new creasing tools designed to produce eco-friendly cardboard displays for exhibitions and point-of-sale setups, supporting the increasing demand for environmentally responsible solutions.

Zünd has recently announced that it will exhibit at FESPA Global Print Expo 2025. The company will present a range of solutions, including the G3 cutter, with live demonstrations at Stand B30 in Hall 27 of the exhibition.
Among the solutions on show at the Zünd stand will be its S3 cutter, which is configured to handle both rolled and rigid board materials. Its demonstration of the G3 will feature a fully automated cutting setup including robotic material handling and parts removal using its PortaBase 175 system.
