Ocean Outdoor announced a series of changes to its senior leadership ahead of Stephen Joseph becoming group CEO, including three key promotions

Ocean Outdoor has announced a series of changes to its senior leadership team, ahead of Stephen Joseph starting his new role as group chief executive officer from January 2025.
Among the announcements are three key promotions for senior staff members.
Phil Hall, the current UK chief executive officer, becomes group chief commercial officer, a new role he will hold alongside his current UK position.
Current group head of finance Billy Byam-Cook becomes group chief financial officer, working alongside Hall to oversee commercial contracts and cross border agency relationships for the company.
In the UK, current chief revenue officer Nick Shaw is promoted to UK chief commercial officer.
There are also several team members taking on wider roles for the company.
Chief marketing officer Richard Malton becomes group chief marketing and strategy officer, while head of brand and events Helen Haines becomes director of strategic marketing.
The changes will be effective from January 1st, 2025, when Joseph assumes his position as group chief executive officer.
Speaking of the restructure, Joseph says: “Our new senior leadership team brings together some of the best experience and expertise in the business, continuing our strategy to be the first choice digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising business for clients, agencies, and landlord partners.
“As we embark on a new period of growth, the team will focus and align best practices across our core disciplines of sales, marketing, asset development and technological innovation, plotting our new and exciting journey together for 2025 and beyond.”
Ocean currently operates in seven countries, employing 300 people. The company is headed by business unit chief executive officers Phil Hall, Anders Axelsson, Xavier Tilman, and Christopher Samsinger.
Other arms of the company include its brand experience and innovation team, Ocean Labs, led by group managing director Catherine Morgan, and its in-house production and consultancy department, Ocean Studios.
Joseph’s appointment was announced earlier this year, alongside a host of new openings and expansions. This included its first expansion into Wales with a supersized DOOH screen in a prime position leading to Cardiff city centre.
Ocean Outdoor also recently announced that it has added a new screen at the Carnaby shopping district in central London.
Measuring 6m x 3m, the landscape screen is positioned above The London Palladium Wall of Fame which is opposite the north entrance to Soho’s Carnaby Street and the luxury retailer Liberty.
