The announcement of the P5 X expands Durst’s range to include mid-range wide-format printing solutions

Durst Group will host an online sneak-peak of its brand new P5 X printing system through an online video demonstration this Wednesday (October 9th).
The online event will allow participants to see the capabilities of the P5 X in detail, with demonstrations by Durst’s specialist team.
The announcement of the P5 X printer expands Durst’s range to include mid-range wide-format printing solutions.
The new machine is a flatbed printer with roll options, designed for applications including large-scale decoration and specialty packaging, while it also integrates hybrid, software, service, and ink solutions.
Included within the design are magnetic linear motors on the X and Y axes, which the manufacturer says helps to ensure reliable movement across the workspace. The system, Durst adds, allows for “faster and simpler positioning without compromising on accuracy, even at high speeds."
The machine is also equipped with a vacuum table featuring 12 selectable zones. The four larger zones can be adjusted using individual sliders to adapt to the width of the print material. Additionally, the vacuum can be reversed to allow for material removal.
The P5 X offers ten colour channels that can be configured to meet specific requirements. These include a range of inks from the P5 series, including CMYK, white, fluo, orange, violet, light cyan, light magenta, light black, varnish, and primer channels.

Speaking of the announcement, chief executive officer and co-owner of Durst Group, Christopher Gamper, comments: "The P5 X is a testament to our commitment to continuous growth in the large-format printing sector.
“We continue to push boundaries with new technologies, expanding our capabilities to meet our customers’ evolving needs. The P5 X, proudly 'Made in Durst', reflects our dedication to innovation, quality, and reliability, showcasing the best of what Durst stands for.”
The P5 X is part of the wider P5 family of wide-format printers. The range includes the P5 350 HSR, a 3.5m roll-to-roll LED printer that Durst says can achieve speeds of up to 670sq m/h. Also included in the range is the P5 500, a 5m wide-format printer multi-roll machine designed for unattended printing.
The online presentation will be available from 10 am (CEST). More information about the event, including information on how to attend, can be found on Durst’s website.
