UK supplier of signage, Astley Signs has welcomed service station enthusiast and social media influencer, Rich Cross aka ‘The Services King’ to its Gateshead head office.

Cross has been passionate about service stations since childhood and travels across the UK rating them. His enthusiasm and knowledge enable him to update Motorway Services Online to ensure it is the UK’s largest motorway services database.

Astley provided Cross with a tour of its 62,000sq ft custom-built facility in Gateshead, demonstrating the sheer scale and capacity of its offering, especially in the PFS (petrol filling stations) industry.

The company has supported petroleum brands for over 15 years and has become the ‘go to’ branding partner for this sector. The signage involved in this area includes forecourt assets such as canopies, totems, and kiosk signage.

Reflecting on his visit, Cross says: “I spent time with key members of the Astley team who showed me around the factory. Astley is one of the only few signage companies withing the UK which manufactures all products in-house as well as installing them. Thanks to the whole Astley team for their hospitality.”

Anth Lumsden, senior contracts manager for Astley’s PFS clients, adds: “It was a pleasure to have Rich visit us at Astley. There isn’t a thing that Rich doesn’t know about motorway services, so it was great to show him behind-the-scenes of how some of the branding of these forecourts come to life.

“We wish Rich all the best on the road and hope to catch up with him soon!”

Astley has produced signage for brands within the PFS sector including JET, Texaco, BP and MFG, as well as grocery clients such as Sainsbury’s and the Co-operative.
